As a Godzilla and Kong fan, I am kinda disappointed with how the monster verse went with, so I agree with you here. I liked how Godzilla 2014 took a serious tone, and actually had a decent story. but when the other movies came out, it’s like they were started to care less about this franchise. Some people say, “well it’s a giant monster movie, it doesn’t have to have decent writing and just monsters fighting.” Well that’s exactly why nobody takes this franchise seriously, because screenwriters couldn’t care less to make Godzilla or Kong interesting anymore. I do like the idea of monsters fighting, don’t get me wrong, but don’t let it fool you into thinking that’s what makes a good movie. Let’s be real, the reason why people buy into this stuff now is because we don’t know if we’ll ever get another Godzilla reboot again, so we kinda have to take what’s given to us. I care about movies, and I care about this franchise. If you like these movies the way they are, more power to you, but as fans of these monsters, we deserve better.

You should review the anime godzilla trilogy that came out a couple of years ago, my god the story went nowhere, you didn't give a 🐀💩 about the characters in the least bit, and I thought if they didn't offer any of that at least give us some good monster action we can enjoy. But no it was Godzilla 2014 but × 10, because at least Godzilla was active in 2014. In the anime trogily he sleeps through out 96% of the trogily and the creatures say some 🐃💩 about these battles in the trogily are the best of the entire franchise. 😂🤣🤬 no!!! I wasted over 3 hours with people I didn't care about, a story that would say the same crap over and over again or go nowhere at all, and no monsters beating the ever living 💩 out of each! So if you really want to destroy something destroy the anime godzilla trilogy, even though the Monsterverse does have its flaws at least it is quite entertaining at times.

They do say in the King Kong movie that he’s still growing because they wanted it to make sense that he gets big enough to match Godzilla later.

I've seen two more teaser trailers since this trainwreck was released and it honestly gets worse with every release. If culture is downstream from politics, than this "movie" could be more proof that Hollywood is essentially a cartoonish epitaph for the United States. Additionally, I find it sadly ironic that an iconic Japanese character has been retconned by woke, yet increasingly inept, American movie studios to appeal to the Chinese Communists. Who knew the twilight of the American Empire would end with such a CGI whimper.

I expect to see The Rock taking Kong place and beating the crap of Godzilla.

5:19 they stated like 3 times in Kong Skull Island how he was just an adolescent and he still had a ways to go and he was gonna get much bigger it's not like all the shit with the monsters is at complete random really the only issue with these movies are the fact the human plots all suck or literally do nothing

Your critique on how none of the characters in Kong Skull Island get a character arc doesn't make sense. It's called Kong, It would be rather stupid to try developing human character arcs in a movie about monsters fighting each other.

"Why were the monsters bowing in the end of KOTM?" because they spent the movie telling the audience that they aren't big dumb monsters but a society of beings easily as smart as humans. You hit the toilet duck a little too hard.

TBH I wouldn't expect King Kong to put up much of a fight against Godzilla. Godzilla is WAY more powerful AND more difficult to injure. And also quite a bit larger, unless I'm misunderstanding things. King Kong was like 50 or 100 feet tall, Godzilla is more like 500 or 1000. Godzilla also has actual powers, being able to shoot an energy beam from its mouth. But if they want to redo the characters to try to make a movie out of it, sure, why not. Idk, are there more than one version of King Kong? Because certainly he's MUCH smaller than the empire state building, he's just this little thing at the top of it when he climbs it in the original film. Godzilla on the other hand was as TALL as skyscrapers.

So, to make this a fairer fight, will Godzilla turn off his radioactive breath for Kong? He really should, you know. New origin story: 'Zilla is awakened from his underwater slumber by The Mother of All Tsunamis. There, problem solved.

My son (5 years old) loved Godzilla king of monsters. Definitely watching this one with him and fast forwarding the people talking.

Look, the godzilla movies are the only kind of movies that you shouldn't care if the plot is good or bad, just show some action between two or more monsters.

The reason ill watch this movie is the same reason I watch movies from the Fast and Furious franchise... High ridiculous factor is fun.

Shin godzilla is a great mix of both Old godzilla and great story acting and reserved spectacle. Complete opposite of how the west handled their godzilla, if not just a better version. Go watch it.

The use of girls to control the monsters was common in the Rubber Suit monster movies as well. Most of the new monster-verse movies are remakes of the classics I used to watch for mind numbing hours as a kid because I was snowed in at home and we had a new television station that bought up cheap entertainment from Japan and Canada.

The ‘Monsterverse’ is basically the only cinematic universe I give a shit about. Basically all of Hollywood lacks any real writing talent and the well written movies are never part of these cinematic universes. One group decided that if they don’t have the capability of writing a decent plot they might as well use their stupidly high budgets to just make big monsters punch each other in the face. Mindless destruction with the flimsy borderline useless plot for the mandatory human characters. It’s nice to avoid the forced politics put into every other movie. Just sit back and watch the dinosaur fight the monkey who also fight the robot dinosaur. Stupid, ridiculous, and fuck ton of fun which a lot of movies seem to think it beneath them these days If I’m being honest King of the Monsters was my favorite thus far. Explosive, punchy, and more fun than any other movie I watched that year. It was completely insane from start to finish and that’s what I loved about it. I was promised a movie where Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Rodan have a 4 way smack down and that’s what I got. I got a large popcorn and just forgot the nightmare of the world around me for 2 hours. Worth every penny

As long as there's actually monster fights thats not obscured in a blizzard or smoke or underwater it'll be good. Unless they keep cutting to ppl watching the fight, theirs enough reaction videos on ITput, I don't need that shit in cinema.

Kong's size in the 60's was a lot smaller. He was a child in that movie who had lost his parents to those lame underground monsters. He grew in 60 years.

It might be better if the trailer just said. "Okay so King Kong's going to fight Godzilla and we might have some other monsters join in." And then adding a few hype shots and then end it. I would still go out and watch the movie.

Nothing personal, but everyone is talking about Critical Drinker's opinions/jokes, which he is entitled to. No one mentions his opinions on the previous Godzilla titles (2014 and KOTM). I know they're not the main subject of the video, but CD's opinion of them are worth considering (that is if you agree with them or will at least hear him out.) I happen to agree with him on those two. Not Kong Skull Island. That movie was dope!! 👍 Now, I may not like KOTM, but I respect the opinions of those who loved it. We all have our own thoughts on media. I acknowledge the hood points of KOTM, but it still has issues that don't sit well with me. Some of those are legitimate problems in the film's script and human characters. Others I admit are nitpicks that don't disrupt the overall experience. It's just not the film I anticipated. Aa for Godzilla vs Kong, I fear that it will share some of the same problems, but will be more fun.

Kaiju Movies are pretty simple... embrace the absurdity of your premisse. Don't overcomplicate things with stupid human story arcs. Give as many as possible, well made shots of the monster(s).

What ruin for me with those movie are the human character they are so boring, at least in skull island they try to make the human characters fun to watch but the rest none of the human have an interesting personality.
